At just 23 in Nicholas’s first ever magazine interview. He said, “Fashion is about dressing up and being stupid,” A statement that proves almost prescient of his future careers in fashion and now comedy.
Nicholas lived in New York City, where he spent almost a six years as the creative director of his own fashion brand N-P-Elliott. The NY Times described the brand as “Blade Runner Peasant chic”. His clothes were worn by Migos, Big Sean, and ASAP Rocky and he was nominated for the International Woolmark Prize, previously won by Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld. Ultimately the brand went bust, a setback that would send him on an entirely new path, Comedy. Whilst in The USA he and his partner Jeremy Mcclain were managed by 3Arts. Since returning to Edinburgh after the pandemic they setup Cromeans Productions, a globally recognised film, television, and theatre company (BFI Flare, Iris Prize, Out Fest, GSFF).
Nicholas recently directed his first comedy short film, starring TV legends Annette Badland (Ted Lasso, Big Boys, Midsummer Murders) and Mark Cox (Still Game)
He Runs Hot Comedy (Gilded Ballon) with his co-producer and StandUp comedian Eva Peroni a bold, inclusive comedy compilation show in Edinburgh, known for its diverse and supportive atmosphere. It showcases a mix of top headliners and rising stars from all backgrounds with Queer, POC, Disabled, Female, Non-binary performers—and yes, even straight white men— They are having a really tough time apparentlty. Creating a line-up that genuinely reflects comedy's full spectrum.
